How far along? 24 weeks and 2 days.
Total Weight Gain: My total weight gain is now 28.4 pounds. That’s up 1.6 pounds since last week. This is the most frustrating part of pregnancy for me. I try not to let it affect me too much, but it does. I’m grateful to have a husband that constantly reminds me not to worry about the number on the scale (in fact, he usually jokes around that I must have body dysmorphic disorder to worry so much about weight when, as he says, I’m just pregnant, not fat!). He’s a good guy and he’ll be a great daddy.
Maternity clothes? Oh yes. I’m a little frightened to see how big I’ll be a month or two from now – I may need to get some shirts in a bigger size to accommodate this big belly!
Stretch marks? None here (yet)!
Sleep: I have been getting up more than usual to go to the bathroom at night, sometimes 2-3 times a night during the week. But my biggest issue here is that I am still sleeping most of the night on my back! I am getting very worried about this because I don’t know how to fix it. I go to sleep on my side, but inevitably wake up on my back. I hope this is not affecting baby in any way, but I am going to bring this up at my next appointment with the midwife.

Best moment this week: Justin and I took a trip to
Fredericksburg, TX on Saturday. It’s
about an hour from San Antonio. Just a
cute little town with lots of little shops and an old-fashioned Germanic
feel. We walked around, bought fudge at
multiple shops, and ate a late lunch at a little German pub/restaurant. It was good to get out of town for a
bit. I included a couple pictures
below (one of a Christmas display near the center of the town, and the other of Justin in front of the restaurant).
I also talked to my mom for several
hours on the phone on Saturday night, and it was so good to catch up, though it
made me miss her even more! I can’t wait
for my trip to Nashville in December. Last
night would have been great with the Patriots on Monday Night Football and all,
but they lost to the Panthers. Oh well,
there’s always Sunday! I’ve also been
getting lots of great advice and tips from some mama friends, on everything
from baby gear to breastfeeding, and believe me – every single email, phone
call, and text message is much appreciated. (Thanks especially to Kate Clark for some very helpful stuff
this past week!)
Miss anything? Fall weather! It’s been hot and humid here for days, and it’s miserable. And red wine too.

Movement: Yes, and it’s so special. I think I have been enjoying this stage when,
most of the time, it’s only me who can feel her, so it’s like a special thing
that just she and I share for now. But I
am looking forward to some stronger movement to come so daddy-to-be can feel
her more too! (She is actually kicking me right now!)
Food Cravings: Nothing very particular this past week, except maybe ice cream (enjoying some Breyer’s Mint Chocolate Chip this week), caramel apples (still haven’t had one yet), and food is general (I have been very hungry lately!).
Anything making you queasy or sick: Meat fat, as usual. No real interest in Chinese, Indian, or most Mexican food still either.
Have you started to show yet? Yes, and as Justin pointed out this morning, I’m looking a bit “basketball-like” these days!

Gender: Sweet baby girl.
Labor signs: No.
Symptoms: Restless legs (which are extremely uncomfortable some nights), and mild heartburn (which is controlled pretty well with Pepcid).
Belly button in or out? It’s in, but not for too much longer! It’s very flat now.
Wedding rings on or off? On, though my watch is getting a little snug on my wrist these days!
Mood: Mostly happy for a worrier like me. Getting so thrilled to be moving towards the third trimester in just a few short weeks, moving us ever closer to meeting our baby girl this March!

Looking forward to: Thanksgiving and a much-needed four
day break from work next week. And I’m
starting to get very excited about my trip to Nashville in December! I’m also looking forward to some cooler
weather, if it ever plans to come to Texas.
Random Thoughts: Since I took a picture of me and
Juno last week, I figured it was only fair to get one of me and Freddy this
week! See below.
